LAKE CITY - Everette G. Dennis, 91, husband of Nettie Belle Fryar Dennis, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Lake City Community Hospital, after an illness.

Born Oct. 20, 1922, in Johnsonville, Bubba was a son of the late George W. and Jessie Powell Dennis. He retired from King Cadillac as a body shop foreman. He was a member of Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he formerly served as director of the Senior Citizens Group, teacher of the Mae Wall Sunday School Class for more than 35 years, a deacon for more than 20 years and as a choir member.

Survivors besides his wife of 68 years include two daughters, Wanda (the Rev. Chesley) Floyd of Rincon, Ga., and Gail (Roger) Gause of Lake City; a son, Ronnie (Georgia) Dennis of Scranton; four grandchildren, Kim (Gerard) Vining of Rincon, Shay (Kristi) Gause of San Antoio, Texas, Jody (Angel) Dennis of Lake City and Jason (Brandi) Dennis of Manning; seven great-grandchildren, Davey and Shane Dennis, Kate and Erin Gause, Logan and Skylar Vining and Cayden Lee Dennis; a brother, Malvin Dennis of Lake City; three sisters, Beth Altman, Meredith Hooks and Mavis Moore, all of Johnsonville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Dennis; and a sister, Linda Dennis.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Carolina Funeral Home in Scranton, with burial following at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family received friends prior to services at the funeral home.
