Manning man charged with PWID crack, possession of marijuana

Solomon Jermaine McBride, 32, of 204 Brunson St. in Manning, was charged about 12:28 a.m. Sept. 9 with possession of crack with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana, second offense, after a traffic stop on Winfield Street in Manning. According to a report from the Manning Police Department, Private 1st Class William B. Secrist II spotted McBride exiting a store in the area and smelled a strong scent of marijuana coming from him. Secrist stopped a vehicle in which McBride was a passenger, and asked if any drugs were in the vehicle. The driver stated he did not know of any. A substance believed to be crack-cocaine was later found on McBride's person, as was marijuana.
