Posted
EDITOR’S NOTE: Susie M. Gibson, owner of Gibson Floral Cart, is one of nearly 100 women that will be honored Sept. 23 by Main Street Manning. We will be featuring all women who completed a survey related to their businesses on manninglive.com throughout September, and will also feature a select few in The Manning Times each week. Susie M. Gibson is proud to be a small business owner. "I have been in business for 22 years and still going strong," she said. "I was born and raised here in Clarendon County where I also received by education as well." A graduate of Manning Training School, she furthered her education at Central Carolina Technical College and gained work experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Clarendon Memorial Hospital. "I have been blessed with a loving husband, five beautiful children and a number of grandchildren," she said. She's always considered herself to be someone with a "green thumb." "I have always had a passion for flowers, design and balloons," she said. In 1992, she decided to rely on her faith and open her own business, a decision that she hasn't regretted once. "I have had tremendous success and I will always be grateful to the community for allowing me to serve them for all these years," she said. "After 22 years, I can truly say that I have endured many blessings and realize that the best is yet to come." Gibson attends Fellowship Baptist Church and is filled with happiness to live and work in Manning. "Thanks be to God," she said.
