Women of Main Street: Hulaine Windham

Posted
EDITOR’S NOTE: Hulaine Windham, general manager of Hill Printing, is one of nearly 100 local businesswomen who will be recognized Sept. 23 during Main Street Manning’s annual meeting. The Manning Times will be featuring a few of these women each week throughout September in The Manning Times, and posting stories daily on manninglive.com. A native of the Home Branch community of Clarendon County, Hulaine Windham has always enjoyed the small-town life that Manning provides. A 1984 graduate of Manning High School, she attended the F.E. DuBose Center from 1982-84 and received her certification as a medical technician before moving on to the Tuomey School of Nursing. But it’s for the printing business that Windham is most known in the community. “I have worked in the printing business about 13 years,” said Windham, who has been general manager of Hill Printing for about three years. “I absolutely love my job. I love helping customers take their thoughts and put them in print. I love helping a bride decide how to write an invitation with multiple parents without making anyone mad. I love helping with an invitation for that first birthday prince or princess.” “I want to make a family feel they are my only priority when putting together a program for a lost loved one,” Windham added. Windham said the business – owned by Mike Hill – is currently undergoing expansion. “We have obtained a building that will be undergoing renovations,” she said. “We will have digital copiers and presses back in action for faster customer convenience.” Windham is married to Cecil “Sonny” Windham Jr. The couple has two children, Zeb and Kathryn. They enjoy following Kathryn’s softball career at Erskin College, and being grandparents to 3-year-old granddaughter Adalyn, the couple’s pride and joy. They are members of New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
