Counterfeit bills being used at Manning businesses

Posted
Det. Rick Elms with the Manning Police Department said Tuesday that a string of counterfeit bills have been used at businesses within city limits in the past week. Businesses hit have included the Dollar General at 500 W. Boyce St.; the CVS at 471 W. Boyce St.; Walmart on Paxville Highway; and the Dollar General at 610 S. Mill St. "We do have a possible counterfeiting ring going around town, and we want businesses to be aware of what's going on," Elms said. He advised that, in some instances, those passing the bills - which included denominations in $20, $50 and $100 bills - may not have known the bills were counterfeit.
