A Manning High School graduate and native of Sumter County died Aug. 12 along with her husband after a shooting incident at the woman's home in Killeen, Texas. Authorities there say Shamara Wilson Henry, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Quista Henry, also 30 and from Sumter, later died at a hospital. Police told The Temple Daily Telegram of Central Texas that Quista Henry died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police implied the incident was a murder-suicide, but did not comment further. Another man at the home was severely wounded. His name was not released. Both Shamara and Quista Henry served in the military, taking them away from their native South Carolina. They had both been honorably discharged, according to reports. Shamara was studying to be a licensed therapist at the time of her death. The couple is survived by five children.
