C.E. Murray opened the night strong against Kingstree, but the Jaguars pulled away late to win the game 36-18. Head coach Brian Smith accredited the loss to depth issues. “I don’t want to make excuses, but the heat got to us in the first quarter,” Smith said. “We were gassed and they’re just a better team.” The War Eagles defense forced a Jaguars fumble on their opening possession. C.E Murray’s offense turned the fumble into a touchdown after a couple of plays, and went up by 6-points. C.E. Murray’s quarterback Alexander Bradley was involved in the three touchdown that the War Eagles scored. Bradley threw two touchdowns and had one paydirt on the ground. Bradley fell to a leg injury in the third quarter, which opened the door for Darius Rush to take snaps from under center. The War Eagles host Lincoln 7:30 p.m. Friday.
