A Timmonsville man charged Friday with third-degree criminal sexual conduct will have to pay a $15,000 cash bond or $30,000 surety bond to regain his freedom from the Clarendon County Detention Center while awaiting his trial in general sessions court. Nairobi Rashied Ferguson, 38, of 3617 Bass Lane in Timmonsville, was charged Aug. 8 with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after a 17-year-old girlĀ reported to the Manning Police Department two days earlier that Ferguson had pulled her leggings down at her home on Alfred Henry Drive in Manning and forced his hand into the front of her pants toward her private parts. The girl said the man did touch her private parts. Ferguson left the home and was later found at a store on Paxville Highway after he called the home to ask for a ride and told the girl's mother where he was. Ferguson reportedly told police that he would "never do that" and that he wanted to take "that lie detector test thing." Ferguson faces up to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
