Minnie Dukes Nelson, widow of the late James Nelson Sr., died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Jewish Home Life Care in Bronx, N.Y.
Born July 7, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Eola Hammett Dukes. Her fond memories will be cherished by a number of family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the family home, 4310 Moses Dingle Road in Summerton.
Services of remembrance for Minnie Dukes Nelson were held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Mt. Zion AME Church, 6547 M.W. Rickenbaker Road in Summerton, where the Rev. Courtney D. Colleton, pastor, and Elder Tuqwan Jordan of Restoration Tabernacle in Dallas, Ga., brought words of consolation. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
