Summerton native to direct national cemetery in Michigan

A Scott’s Branch High School alumnus is now the director of a national cemetery.
Alphaeus L. Richburg was named recently to the post of director for Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan, making him responsible for all burial, maintenance and administration operations at the facility.
A son of Alphaeus “Shorty” Richburg and Lillian “Sister” Ragin-Richburg of Summerton, Richburg joined the National Cemetery Administration in January 2009 as a cemetery representative at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort. He completed the NCA’s one-year cemetery director intern program in two-and-a-half years later.
