CCTC pins 18 medical assistants

SUMTER – Central Carolina Technical College's Health Sciences Division pinned 18 new medical assistants during a ceremony held Thursday in the Iris Room of the college's Health Sciences Center in downtown Sumter. Medical Assistants are broadly defined as individuals who assist other health care professionals in offices and/or other medical settings, performing delegated administrative and clinical duties in accordance with respective state laws governing such actions and activities. Members of this year’s Associate Degree in Applied Science with a major in Medical Assisting are, in alphabetical order, Janice Bell, Brittany Braxton, Barbara Carpenter, Amanda Etheredge, Jessica Hensley, Tabitha Kirby, Rebecca Mitchum, SaQuisha Oliver, Ashley Outlaw, Kaishanita Price, Katherine Rabon, Victoria Rumbold, Porcelyn Scarborough, Tiairra Smith, Jessica Stuckey, Elizabeth Ward, Edith Weaver and Katrice York. Adjunct faculty includes Mary Hayes and Karen Taylor (not pictured). Program Manager is Mickey Wheeler.
