Tropical Storm Bertha tracking away from coast, showers in our forecast

Cooler temperatures are on tap for the first few days of August as the National Weather Service has forecast a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this weekend. Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center is predicting Tropical Storm Bertha will pass just south of Puerto Rico on Saturday before eventually turning to the north and northeast away from the South Carolina coast. Current conditions in Clarendon County: Temperatures are in the mid 70s under cloudy skies; thunderstorms are more likely after 5 p.m. today with a high near 83. Winds out of the northeast should not exceed 5 mph. Tonight will see a low of around 70 degrees. The National Weather Service has also  issued a hazardous weather outlook for east central Georgia and central South Carolina, with the warning that abundant moisture could lead to isolated flooding in low lying areas  and places with  poor drainage.
