Lucille Driggers Cotton, 90, beloved widow of Richard C. Cotton, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born May 14, 1924, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late John William and Sara Headley Elizabeth Baker Driggers. She was a devout Christian and dedicated member of Northside Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from Bendix/Bosch after 25 years of service as a cafeteria attendant. She loved being with her family and friends and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Clarendon County Dixie Boys play tonight

The Clarendon County Dixie Minors Boys All Star Team lost their game in the 9- to 10-year-olds tournament on Sunday, but won Monday. Both games were played in Sumter.

They were defeated 9-6 on Sunday by the Sumter American team. Blaine Kennard took the loss for Clarendon County. Offensively, Clarendon was led by Mickey Jordan and Josh Kennard, who had two hits each, while Austin Geddings and Lowden Olsen each recorded singles on the night.
