A 55-year-old man living in the 300 block of Hartwell Street in Manning told the Manning Police Department about 11:11 p.m. July 19 that his 24-year-old son became "irate and boisterous" after the older man refused to give his son $5 for cigarettes. He said his son then told him that "he needed to walk outside with him because he was going to hurt and kill him," according to reports. The man told police his son grabbed a screwdriver and threatened to use it against him. The son was later charged with disorderly conduct and posted a $257 personal recognizance bond on July 21.
