Church event chips away at racial division, political differences

Black biker clubs worshipped alongside white Republicans Sunday morning at Rock Hill Baptist Church then sat down together afterward and enjoyed a meal of fried catfish and hot dogs. "These are the decent, decent good people," Pastor Leon Winn told the congregation, as he introduced S.C. Secretary of State Mark Hammond and S.C. GOP Chairman Matt Moore to the audience. "Give them a hand. They're really trying to bring the state together in a positive way." "This is truly a day the Lord has made," said Hammond from the pulpit. "It's truly a blessing to be here." "There's nothing here but sinners saved by grace," Moore said. "We're all in the same boat fighting for the same things." Hammond presented Pastor Winn with an official Recognition of Achievement for his work with Rock Hill Baptist Church.
