Robert Mark Blackmon, 57, husband of Nancy Brewer Blackmon, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina hospital in Charleston.

Born Feb. 8, 1957, in Camden, he was a son of the late Robert Lewis Blackmon and Myrtis Fletcher Blackmon. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering fraternity, the Tau Beta Pi Engineering fraternity, the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity and was also a board certified engineer with the S.C. State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church at Wilson.

Survivors besides his wife of Manning include two sons, William Lewis Blackmon and Thomas Alexander Blackmon, both of Manning; and many beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, who died in infancy.

A memorial service for Robert Mark Blackmon will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Union United Methodist Church at Wilson, with the Rev. Wallace Culp and the Rev. Carl Ritter officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall, and other times at the home, 2322 Nesbit Road in Manning.
