Eloise Graham Gamble

NEW ZION — Elouise Graham Gamble, 82, widow of Woodrow “Bubba” Gamble, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

Born Jan. 3, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Isom and Charlotte Graham. She attended Glendale Public School in Lake City, and was a retired seamstress. In her youth she joined the Old West Church in Lake City that was started by her family. She accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior at that time. Later, she joined St. Mark Holiness Church in Lake City. After her marriage, she joined St. John AME Church in Kingstree.

She was preceded in death by three children, Isaac Gamble, Stella D. Gamble and Rebecca G. Wilson; and A grandchild, Nevia L. Muldrow.

Survivors include four daughters, Victoria (Thomas) A. McCoy of Springdale, Md., Dorothy (Ira G.) White of Louisburg, N.C., Rachel (Dwayne R. Sims of Raleigh, N.C., and Mary L. Gamble of Manning; two sons, Woodrow Gamble Jr. of New Zion and John J. (Jeanne) Gamble of Alexandria, Va.; nine grandchildren, Tonia D. Tanner, Dedrick Gamble, Kenya White, Kayona Bowman, Kenny McCoy, Kenice McCoy, Shontell Gamble, Wesley Brown and Angie Harrison; and nine great-grandchildren.

The celebratory services for Eloise Graham Gamble will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John AME Church in the Workman Crossroad section of Williamsburg County, with the Rev. Frederick Johnson, pastor, officiating, Bishop Dr. Cooper presiding, and the Rev. Dr. Leroy Graham, Pastor Sylvia McFadden and Dr. Ethel Kelly assisting. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

Mrs. Gamble will lie in repose one hour prior to service time.

The family will receive friends at the home, 14243 U.S. 301 in New Zion.

The services have been entrusted to Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.
