DuBose Campus for Central Carolina Technical College on U.S. 521 in Manning will maintain extended hours through Aug. 22 to aid those needing admission or registration assistance. Classes begin Aug. 18. The extended hours will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays; and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

She attended the public schools of Warren Township, Middlesex High School, Rutgers University and Northeaster University Law School. She was first married to Luther T. Manning man’s brother, missing-in-action during WWII, identified 70 years later

ted-gardner-2ted-gardner-2Manning resident Ted Gardner can remember one of the few times his father cried. “The day he got the notice that my brother was missing overseas, he sat at the table, put his head down and cried,” Gardner said Thursday shortly after officials with the Department of Defense confirmed that his long-lost brother, Charles Arthur Gardner, had been identified from a collection of remains found on the island of New Guinea in the Pacific Ocean. Crime-ReportsCrime-ReportsA 30-year-old Manning woman told deputies about 10:33 a.m. Friday that an unknown person had vandalized her vehicle, damaging the windshield in three places, busting the headlights out and keying the hood with the phrase “B—- you are next.” The passenger’s side window and mirror had also been broken and keyed. The woman said no items had been taken from the vehicle, which was parked in the 1000 block of Otto Road during the incident.

The Clemson graduate said she chose Clarendon Memorial because she “liked the idea of being a lot closer to home, and I heard a lot of good things about Clarendon County.”

Woman gets enhanced shoplifting charge

Crime-ReportsCrime-ReportsFrances Shannon Riley, 50, of 811 Peace St. in Sumter, was charged about 5:37 p.m. July 21 with shoplifting, enhanced, at a store in the 2000 block of Paxville Highway in Manning after a store employee told police she saw Riley try to leave the store without paying for three items valued at $23. The items included two types of nail glue and an AC adapter. Shoplifting charges are enhanced under South Carolina law when there are prior shoplifting convictions.
