Wreck with no injuries on I-95

The S.C. Highway Patrol is currently responding to a vehicle wreck with no injuries between the 133 and 135 mile-markers in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95. Traffic will likely be slower during this time.

The award is the highest presented to individual student-athletes in the South Carolina Independent School Association, recognizing the top graduating male and female student-athletes in the association, with more than 100 member schools. Surette confirms date for next CWP class

Fish Fry at St. Peter’s Lodge

St. Peter’s Masonic Lodge No. 54, on East Boyce Street in Manning between The Corner Diner and The Manning Times, will hold its annual Fish Fry fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The cost is $6 per plate, and proceeds benefit and support the lodge’s charitable activities.

Rail car in roadway on Rimini Road

The S.C. Highway Patrol is reporting a traffic hazard on Rimini Road in Summerton at a railway crossing. According to reports, a rail car has stopped on the tracks and is out of service. It would be best to avoid the area at this time.

Wreck with no injuries on Raccoon Road, Bush Haven Drive

The S.C. Highway Patrol is currently responding to a wreck in the 100 block of Bush Haven Drive near Raccoon Road. Traffic may be slower during this time. The wreck happened at 6:54 p.m., and there were no reported injuries.

Lots of fathers would like to see their sons follow in their footsteps.

But Ervin Davis, owner of Ervin’s Tire, just didn’t see himself as a farmer.

“My father really wanted me to come back and work on the farm after high school,” Davis said. “But I just didn’t want to.”

Open for 17 years, Ellen’s Nails was the very first nail shop opened in Manning.

Clarendon County NAACP Chairman Robert McFadden, who is also the Republican candidate for House District 64, spoke to his party constituents on Friday night during the Clarendon County GOP’s special meeting. He was one of nearly a dozen speakers at the meeting, which is the last before the June 10 primary. McFadden faces no opposition in the primary, so he is the presumable Republican nominee. Department of Public Safety to test lane reversal plans for coastal areas

SCDPSCOLUMBIA – The S.C. Department of Public Safety wil join other state and local agencies from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday to test lane reversal plans for all three major South Carolina coastal areas for hurricane season, which began Sunday.

No traffic lanes will actually be reversed during this exercise, which will focus on Interstate 26, U.S. 21, 278 and 501, and S.C. 544.
