Truck overturns, spills corn at Old Georgetown Road, North Brooks Street

The intersection of North Brooks Street and Old Georgetown Road in Manning will be impassible for a little bit as workers with Scott Farms of Lane clean up corn spilled when a driver overturned his truck earlier today. Manning Fire Chief Mitch McElveen said the driver likely "took the turn too sharply" while turning right onto Old Georgetown Road, causing the truck to overturn. He was unsure how long the intersection will be blocked. Police are currently redirecting traffic. He said the driver - who is in his 60s - refused medical treatment, but had his wife drive him to Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
