Samuel Pack, husband of 53 years to Lula Cantey Pack, died Friday, June 13, 2014.
Born Aug. 9, 1940, in Manhattan, N.Y., he was a son of the late Mary Carpenter Spann and Jessie Glisson. He was raised by the late Martha Pack.
Survivors besides his devoted wife include three children, Melvenia (Leon) Riley, Tony (Cynthia) Pack and Jeffrey Pack; and a number of family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Fleming and DeLaine Funeral Home.
A service of remembrance for Samuel Pack will be held 2 p.m. Wednesdy at LaGree AME Church, 2920 Kolb Road in Sumter, with the Rev. Jeanette Collins, pastor, bringing words of consolation. The service of committal, benediction and burial will follow in the family plot at Paxville Cemetery in Pinewood.
The family will receive friends at the home, 10242 Lewis Road in Paxville.
