Shaw to remain on lockdown for time being

An unspecified "perceived threat" triggered a lockdown on Shaw Air Force Base about noon, said Capt. Ashley Norris of the 20th Fighter Wing's Public Affairs Office. Security measures included immediately locking down the base, she said. No one was shot and no one was injured, but the base will not let anyone on nor allow anyone to leave, she explained. "Right now we're still on lockdown," she said, about 1:40 p.m. and was unsure how long the lockdown will remain in place.
