Summerton Town Councilwoman Loretta Pollard said Tuesday night that she is disappointed she was unsuccessful in her second bid for the District 1 seat on Clarendon County Council. She challenged incumbent Billy Richardson unsuccessfully in 2006 as well. Richardson won handily on Tuesday to secure his fifth term on County Council.
"I believe that the challengers, Mr. (Nathaniel) Pugh and myself, we showed Richardson that he needs to pay attention to his constituents," Pollard said. "There are people out there unhappy with the way this county is being led."
