Clarendon County polls in all precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today for the Democratic and Republican party primaries.
The main local race will be decided in Summerton precincts, as voters decide between incumbent Clarendon County Councilman Billy Richardson and two challengers, Nathaniel Pugh and Summerton Town Councilwoman Loretta Pollard for the District 1 seat on County Council.
Another race of interest is the Republican primary for U.S. Congressional District 1: the Rev. Leon Winn of Sumter, and pastor of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Manning, is facing Charleston resident Anthony Culler in that primary.
