Courtney Nicole Parsons, 20, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina hospital in Charleston.

Born Dec. 23, 1993, in Sumter, she was a daughter of David Dwayne Parsons and Lisa Ann Martin Parsons. Nikki was a 2012 graduate of Manning High School, where she was a member of Future Farmers of America, serving as president from 2011-2012 and a member of the archery team. She was a member of the Beta Club and yearbook staff; served as student council treasurer; and played tennis, softball and basketball. Nikki had just been accepted into the radiology program at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, where she was a student.

Survivors besides her parents include two sisters, Blair (Brent) Cramer and Brooke Parsons, all of Manning; a niece, Kinley Welch; her boyfriend, Anthony Bravo; her best friend, Kiri Welch; her beloved puppy, "Molly" Mae Parsons; her paternal grandparents, Jack and Betty Parsons of Sumter; her special doctor, Dr. Rebecca Poole; her special teacher, Coach Michael Haynes; special family, Hector Bravo, Leticia Zanella and Johnny Bravo; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was loved by many other family and friends and her "Welsh Poppy" Family.

She was preceded in death by twin daughters, Anna-Leah and Haylee-Grace Bravo; and maternal grandparents, John and Anna Martin.

A funeral service for Courtney Nicole Parsons will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Miles Family Cemetery in Lake City.

Mickel McCoy, Ray Tucker, Spanky Hutson, Logan Layne, Tracy Benenhaley, Jr. and Coker Adams will serve as pallbearers.

Buddy Martin, Brandon Hanniford, Ethan Hutson, Nathan Jones and Wyatt Benenhaley will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 1:30-3 p.m. Friday prior to the service at Stephens Funeral Home, and other times at the home, 1092 Welsh Poppy Circle in Manning.

Before Nikki passed, she wanted to set up a foundation in her children's memory to benefit other families and children who are going through difficult pregnancies and losses as a result of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). Monetary donations may be made to bit.ly/tttsNikki.
