Mettie McCuen Livingston, 7, daughter of Leslie Paul (Bubba) Livingston and McCuen (Cuen) Bennett Livingston, received her wings and the answers to all her many questions on Thursday, June 5, 2014.

Mettie was a student at Laurence Manning Academy and worshipped at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, both in Manning. Mettie lived life as a grand adventure. Mettie rode dirt bikes and bicycles. She played soccer and baseball, as they were her favorites. Mettie danced with joy, and did so formally with Carolina Dance Academy. Mettie was curious and loved all creatures. Lately, she was tending a new baby chick and anxious to see her grow big enough to lay eggs. She had a special affection for her cat, Daisy. Daisy was loved and petted and examined to the delight of her young master. Mettie had a free spirit, a sweet smile, and a fearless love of life. She embraced, and was embraced by, all

Mettie McCuen Livingston is survived by her parents; her big sister, Lola Grace, and baby brother, John Harper; grandmothers, Lola Tomlinson Bradshaw and Helen Harper Livingston; great-grandmother Helen McCuen Bennett; aunts and uncles, Todd and Kell Culclasure, Hector and Carlie Snethen, Randy and Carole Anne Bradshaw, James (Jimbo) and Lisa Livingston, and Lynn Raymond; cousins, Lauren and Sara Culclasure, Matthew and Seth Green, Cody Snethen, Sage and Tyson Bradshaw; and numerous great aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by grandfathers, Leslie Paul Livingston, Sr. James Morrell Bennett, and Gerald Sage Bradshaw.

The family will receive friends at the home, 533 Woodland Drive, Manning. A memorial service will be conducted by a family friend, the Rev. Marcus Van Vlake at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 10. It will be held at the family farm located at 1947 Idlewood Drive, Pinewood. Dress will be casual and guests are encouraged to bring a chair.
