Driver dies from injuries received in wreck that killed 7-year-old girl

The 20-year-old driver of a truck that hit a tree on Thursday on Interstate 95, killing a 7-year-old girl riding in the vehicle, died from her injuries early Sunday morning, according to Clarendon Deputy Coroner Bucky Mock. Nicole Parsons had been recovering in a Charleston hospital in critical condition, Mock said. She died about 2 a.m. Sunday from her injuries. Parsons was driving a Ford F-250 truck about 12:45 p.m. Thursday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 when she ran off the road and struck a tree near the 112 mile-marker, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. Mettie McCuen Livingston, 7, died at the scene. The young girl's brother, John Harper Livingston, 4, was taken to Charleston in critical, but stable condition. He is said to be recovering.
