The TA Travel Center just off Interstate 95 has shut down its gas pumps for several hours.
General Manager Rich Gerner said about 1 p.m. that he didn't want to comment on the issue. A clerk identifying herself only as Crystal said about 12:45 p.m. over the phone there was "something wrong with the pump pressure," but didn't elaborate.
Gerner said an analysis was currently underway and he expected to have the pumps back on-line from 5 to 7 p.m.
"We don't really know yet," what the problem is, he said. "I've been here 11 years. It could be mechanical. We don't know."
There was at least one unconfirmed report of cars being towed away from the busy truck stop and gas station but Gerner declined to comment about "bad gas" being pumped.
Everything else at TA Travel Center was business as usual, but two trucks and several trash cans will block access to the pumps for the time being.
