Coroner releases name from I-95 fatality

Clarendon County Coroner Hayes Samuels said about 8:30 p.m. that 7-year-old Mettie Livingston of Manning died at the scene of a one-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95 about 12:45 p.m. Thursday. The girl was riding in a Ford F-250 in the northbound lanes of the interstate when the vehicle's 20-year-old driver left the road near the 112 mile-marker and struck a tree. The driver is said to be in critical condition, while a 4-year-old boy in the vehicle is said to be in stable condition, according to Deputy Coroner Bucky Mock. Mettie died at the scene. The S.C. Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
