A New Zion girl's wish to have the Carolina Mammoth named the state fossil became law Tuesday.
Gov. Nikki Haley signed the "Mammoth Bill" Tuesday morning while Olivia McConnell, 8, a student at Carolina Academy in Lake City, and her family were present. Sen. Kevin L. Johnson Jr. and Rep. Bobby Ridgeway were also present.
