Teenagers from Eastover and Sumter man died late Tuesday afternoon in an apparent drowning, according to Clarendon County Deputy Coroner Bucky Mock.
Josh Owens, 19, of Eastover and Timothy Leon Dixon, 21, of Sumter, were reportedly swimming near the overpass at Exit 102 on the northbound side of Interstate 95 about 4 p.m. Tuesday when the incident happened. Mock said a third swimmer and others on shore made the call to 911.
He said the bodies will be sent for an autopsy in Charleston. The state Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident.
