SUMMERTON — “Mother” Hattie Bell Mack-Wilder died Thursday, May 22, 2014.

Born Jan. 12, 1925, in Clarendon County, she was a second child of the late Wally and Annie Gibson Mack. "Mother Wilder" was united in holy matrimony to the late Richard "Nelse" Wilder, with 70 years of marriage, and to this union they were blessed with 10 children. Two preceded her in death, including Burnell Wilder and Richard Lee Earnest Wilder.

Survivors include her remaining eight children, Leroy Wilder, Deaconess Joanne Charles, Jacob Wilder, Anne “Lil” Robinson, Minister Betty Robinson, John Agadja, Ray (Sherrie) Wilder and Sandra (Isiah) Mack; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

A special thanks to Gussie “Squeekie” Nelson for helping “Aunt Hattie.

Funeral services for Hattie Bell Mack-Wilder  will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, 11 Granby Lane in Summerton. Interment will follow at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinewood.

A viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
