NEW ZION - Raymond Brunson Harrington, 86, husband of Jeanette Coker Harrington, died Monday, May 19, 2014.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in New Zion, he was a son of the late Samuel Buren Harrington and Lizzie Idell Harrington. He was a retired farmer, working for more than 50 years. He also worked at the Sav-Way in Kingstree for several years. He last worked at the Manning IGA for seven years, and at 86 decided to hang up his hat. He was a member and former deacon at Midway Presbyterian Church.
Survivors besides his wife include a daughter, Janene (Pete) Surette of Manning; two sons, Michael (Linda) Harrington and Jerry (Nan) Harrington, both of the Oakdale community of New Zion; seven grandchildren, Michael (Lauren) Harrington, Tiffany (Carlos) Boggs, Daniel (Becky) Harrington, Chase (Krystal) Harrington, Grace Surette, Jesse Surette and Kris (Lindsey) Lewis; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia Boggs and Audrey Lewis.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Midway Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mike Lowder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Michael Harrington Jr., David Harrington, Chase Harrington, Jesse Surette, Johnny Harrington and Christopher Harrington will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Stephens Funeral Home, and other times at the home of his son, Jerry Harrington, 1591 Marcus Lane in New Zion.
