Sheriff's Office investigating Ram Bay robbery

The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office is investigating a strong arm robbery that happened about 11:10 p.m Tuesday at the Moore Food Store on Alex Harvin Highway in Manning. The 36-year-old female store clerk told deputies that an unknown black male with dreadlocks attempted to enter the store from its back entrance, but the door was locked. She gestured for the man to come to the front entrance, and he inquired about purchasing cigarettes. The woman said the suspect handed her a $5 bill for a pack of Seneca 100s, and when the opened the cash drawer to complete the transaction, he reached over the ounty and snatched an undetermined amount of money and ran out the store. A regular customer told deputies the getaway vehicle was a green four-door Oldsmobile with a license plate ending in 22. The man was wearing a blue shirt with khaki shorts and a dark-colored hat, the clerk told deputies. If you have any information, please call the Sheriff's Office at (803) 435-4414.
