Shirley Bryan VanVoorhis, age 65, beloved widow Roy VanVoorhis, died on Friday, April 25, 2014, at her home.
Born in Lumberton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Ellis J. and Beulah McLamb Bryan. She formerly worked in security. She was of the Baptist faith. She will always be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-inlaw.
Survivors include a son, Randy Milton (Melinda) Odom of Sumter; a daughter, Melinda (Bill) Phillips of Sumter; two brothers, Danny Bryan and Wayne Bryan, both of Lumberton; three sisters, Patricia Meraz, Faye Bryan and Jean Ristuccia; three grandchildren, Taylor Odom, Susan (Matt) Casselman and Braxton Phillips; and three great-grandchildren, Mattison, Emma and Hallie.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Bullock Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jock Hendrix officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home.
