Brenda M. Bosetti Fix of Wyboo Plantation died Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina hospital in Charleston.

She left this world to be with the Lord in the loving arms of her husband, George J. Fix. She was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Alma I. DeBell Bossetti.

She was awarded a doctor of philosophy degree from the graduate school of Ohio State University in 1992, after she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from that same institution. After working for The Ohio State University Hospital for 18 years as a dietician and in nutrition and diabetest research, she joined Abbott Laboratories as a research scientist in 1997, and retired from there in 2007.

She published numerous articles on nutrition and diabetes during the course of her career. After six years of retirement in northern Wisconsin, she and her husband moved to South Carolina in 2013.

Survivors besides her husband include a sister, Anita (James) Foley of Westerville, Ohio; a brother, Joseph A. Bossetti of Orlando, Fla.; two nieces, Theresa (Glen) Udall of Morris Plain, N.J., and Kathy (Bill) McKahn of Westerville; a nephew, James (Sarah) Foley of Chagrin, Ohio; four stepchildren, Jeffrey (Laurin) Fix of Pickerington, Ohio, Kevin (Amy) Fix of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Andrew (Connie) Fix of West Chester, Ohio, and Katy Santana of Manitowoc, Wis.

She was preceded in death by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial mass celebrating Brenda’s life will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Our Lady of Hope Church, 2529 Raccoon Road in Manning. A reception and refreshments will follow.
