LYNCHBURG — Codell Epps, husband of Virginia G. Epps, died Monday, March 31, 2014.
Born in Turbeville, he was a son of the late John and Elease Epps. He attended Sumter County public schools and was a farmer. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Gethsemane Apostolic Church.
Survivors besides his wife include six children, Thomas Goodman, Milton (Veronica) Epps, Regina (Fred) McGirth, Elder Roger (Hermayone) Epps, Cynthia (Keith) Johnson and Ameache Epps Grady; eight siblings, Vernice Rufus, Virginia Jordan, Pearline Gamble, Lizzie Harrison, Maryletha Barno, McSwain (Eliza) Epps, Nathaniel (Leander) Epps and William McCray; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Gethsemane Apostolic Church with Bishop Calvin McNeil, pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Gethsemane Memorial Garden.
The family received friends at the home, 8190 Rufus Drive in Lynchburg.
