The Laurence Manning Academy varsity soccer team defeated Covenant Central on Thursday at Patriot Park in Sumter. The Swampcats scored four goals in the first half to Covenant's zero. In the second half, LMA put three more balls in the goal, and allowed Covenant one such opportunity. The final score was 7-1. Austin Stout finished the night with five goals and an assist; Will Wannamaker scored a goal and had an assist. Cooper Jolley finished with a goal and an assist. Olin Robinson had an assist, along with Luke DeCosta. The defense, led by Tyler Barrett and John Nguyen, held Covenant to that single goal. LMA plays 5 p.m. Monday at home against Orangeburg Preparatory School.
