LYNCHBURG  —  Cleo Thomas Dickey, 67, widow of Leon Dickey, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at her residence, 4960 Narrow Paved Road, St. John community in Lynchburg.

Born Feb. 12, 1947, in Olanta, Dickey was a daughter of the late Carey and Carrie Epps Thomas. She attended Sumter County public schools. She was a healthcare provider for home health and eventually entered into private work. Dickey was a member of Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church in Olanta, where she sang with the gospel choir.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine (Derick) Johnson of Lynchburg and Amy (Ronald) Warren of Baltimore, Md.; a son, Erick (Cierea Drew) Thomas of Baltimore; three sisters, Ivory Stukes and Lula Mae Thomas, both of Olanta, and Carrie (Robert) Mosley of Florence; a brother, Edward Thomas of Baltimore; a sister-in-law, Pearlie Mae Thomas of Olanta; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church, 1900 Mt. Zion Church Road in Olanta, with Pastor Jimmie McGill officiating, assisted by the Revs. Warren Taylor, I.J. Myers and Jimmy Wilson and Minister Leroy Scott. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home.
