Moses Levy said he taught Justin Jermaine Johnson, 24, when the young man was in ninth through 12th grades at Scott's Branch High School in Summerton. He told jurors on Wednesday afternoon that the Johnson he knew from 2004-08 is not the same one now facing a jury for two counts of murder and a count each of kidnapping, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Johnson is accused of killing 59-year-old Maxine Caraway and his 9-month-old son, Jayden, on April 6, 2011. "I worked with him through student government and in other extracurricular activities ... like JROTC," Levy said. "He was an academically prepared student and always represented at our third-quarter achievement programs. He was a solid A-B student." Levy admitted he'd had no contact with Johnson since the defendant graduated in 2008, other than asking family members how the young man was. The seventh day of testimony begins 9 a.m. today
