Robinson tells jurors in Johnson case to put 'duty before emotion'

Clarendon Public Defender Scott Robinson told jurors on Tuesday during opening arguments that they need to use their common sense to put duty before emotion as they decide the fate of Justin Jermaine Johnson this week. Johnson, 24, of Summerton, is charged with two counts of murder and one count each of kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and first-degree burglary in the shooting deaths of 59-year-old Maxine Caraway and his 9-month-old son, Jayden. He is accused of going to Caraway's home on Carissa Lane in Manning and barging in and shooting the victims as well as the boy's mother, Kaisha, who suffered a minor shoulder injury as a result.
