Third Circuit Assistant Solicitor Chris DuRant examined three of the state’s witnesses against Justin Jermaine Johnson on Tuesday in Clarendon County.

Four of 24 planned witnesses in the state’s case against Justin Jermaine Johnson took the stand on Tuesday at the Clarendon County Administration Building. The trial could last into next week, according to attorneys. The state will continue its case today at 10 a.m.

Johnson is accused in the April 6, 2011, shooting deaths of his 9-month-old son, Jayden, and the boy’s 59-year-old grandmother, Maxine Caraway. Tuesday would have been the woman’s 62nd birthday, her husband, John, testified.
