John Hardy will join the Clarendon School District 3 Board of Trustees after handily winning a nonpartisan election on Tuesday night. He had 67 votes to James Eugene Coker's 10. Mark E. Driggers made a strong showing as a write-in candidate, with 32 votes. Hardy will fill Seat 5, currently held by Allen Coker, who decided not to run for re-election. Seat 1 trustee R. Dale McKenzie was unopposed, but had 15 votes nonetheless. Votes will be certified 10 a.m. Wednesday. See the Feb. 13 edition of The Manning Times for more.
