Jean Griffin Martin Bell

Born Jan. 21, 1935, in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Ervin Theodore and Marie Wells Griffin. She was a member of Summerton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Martin (John) Gasque of Holly Hill; a son, Jack Ryan (Meg) Martin Jr. of Summerton; three sisters, Virginia Ardis and Kenny (Joe) Avin, both of Summerton, and Lynn (Henry) McKinney of Simpsonville; five grandchildren, Allison Gasque (David) Parler of Chapin and Martin Gasque, Guerry Martin, Jack Martin and Davis Martin, all of Summerton; two great-grandchildren, Elli and Grace Parler; four stepchildren, Katharine “Katsy” Bell Ratterree, James Edward Bell III, Anne Middleton “Nancy” Bell and Frederick McDonald “Mac” Bell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Summerton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery.
Bill Martin, David Tindal, Roger Flowers, David Ardis, John Senn and George Oxner will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the home in Summerton.
