monarchsJacob E. Smith Sr. has written a letter to Clarendon School District 2 submitting his resignation as a teacher at Manning Primary School and as head varsity boys basketball coach at Manning High School. His last day as a teacher, according to the letter, will be June 6.

“Although I have enjoyed working in Clarendon School District 2 over the past two years, I cannot continue my future in education here,” Smith wrote. “My family and I have decided to relocate at the end of this school year. I will greatly treasure the experiences I have had serving as a teacher and coach.”
