Clarendon Hall’s Lady Saints beat Summerville’s Faith Christian Lady Knights early Friday evening at the Sumter Civic Center, 48-42. Head Coach Rick Atkinson said he was proud of his team’s effort in their first round of S.C. Independent School Association (SCISA) playoffs. While he acknowledged the need to improve shooting, Atkinson said he was impressed with their overall play, their ability to force turnovers and grab offensive rebounds. “A win’s a win,” he said, noting how both teams were pretty evenly matched. “I’m real proud of their effort.” His team has four sophomores, he said, who are providing solid leadership. Holly Carlisle, Atkinson said, played “like a quarterback.” The Lady Saints will face Newberry at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Wilson Hall.
