Authorities are asking residents to be careful driving around the county after an out-of-state lineman for Santee Electric was injured on Sunday after an incident with a speeding car.

The North Carolina man has remained on the job. Steve Pendleton, was working on U.S. 521 near Foreston when his crew heard a car heading toward them. The car hit another, spun around, and a fellow lineman pulled Pendleton out of the way.

Grazed by the vehicle, Pendleton broke his kneecap. He has remained on the job, however, according to Santee Electric Community Relations Manager Adrel Stone Langley.
