Wallace Gibson, 85, widower of Lillian Irene Bryant Gibson, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at his home.
Born May 28, 1928, in Brundidge, Ala., he was a son of the late Robert “Bub” Gibson and Elizabeth Grey Goolsby Gibson. He was raised in Columbus, Ga., and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Georgia Pacific as a shipping and receiving clerk, and was a member of Paxville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, David Michael Gibson of Longs and Clifford Douglas (Bonnie) Gibson of Bonneau; three daughters, Patricia Leigh Nunnery, Laura Irene (David) Guthrie and Lisa Faye (Jim) Smith, all of Manning; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, David Paul, Samantha, Justin, Erin, Ian and Payton; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Maunell Pritchett of Columbus; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the home, 1766 Gunter Road in Manning.
