Santee Electric still helping 4K customers without power

Santee Electric Cooperative is reporting more than 4,000 customers in Clarendon County tonight without power. District 1 Trustee Sonny Sanders says that crews are working around-the-clock to fix the problem. Sen. Kevin Johnson, D-Manning, said earlier that he has spoken with officials and is “convinced that they are working as hard as they can to restore power.”
“Most of their service area is in a very rural area that was heavily damaged by trees,” Johnson said. “I know it is a hardship for anyone who has no power, and I hope that they are reconnected very soon.”
