A 23-year-old man arrested Tuesday for his part in the shooting death of an 18-year-old North Carolina man will remain at the Clarendon County Detention Center pending a bond hearing before a Circuit Court judge.

Anthony Thomas James, 23, of 11 K.W. Hodge Road in Manning, was denied bond on Wednesday on a charge of murder in relation to the Feb. 6 home invasion with another unidentified suspect that led to the death of Johnte Shaheed Holliday, who was shot twice in the chest during the incident.

Reports indicate Holliday let the two men into the home thinking they were his uncle’s friends. They demanded money, according to the uncle, and then took a “rust and black colored” shotgun before shooting at the men. Holliday was declared dead at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
